Prototypical Coaching Process- 6 Months


1. General discussion to begin to clarify your objectives

    • Review employment and related background
    • Identify near-term and longer-term goals


2. Conduct the Birkman Assessment/ two hour debriefing

3. Refine objectives based upon the Birkman Assessment results

4. Career Search Elements- We assist you with the following:

    • Develop a finite career search plan with specific goals and timelines
    • Develop tools including a resume, bio, business cards, contact letters
    • Create a 60-second “elevator pitch” containing your search focus
    • Develop a “target company” list and an “approach” strategy
    • Develop your list of references and properly manage them
    • Review the pros/cons of full-time employment vs. consulting
    • Review how to start your own business or consulting practice
    • Identify executives with whom to network
    • Identify local networking groups and good job search websites
    • Generally, keep you on plan


5. Refresh your network by re-contacting previous associates, vendors, clients, etc.

    • Join LinkedIn; expand and coordinate your growing network

6. Search websites- Paid/Free


    • Netshare, 6figurejobs.com, theladder.com, ExecuNet
    • Lead411


7. Weekly phone calls/meetings to discuss progress, define immediate next      
    steps, review opportunities, discuss problems, etc, and generally keep you on plan
